.no name.

So my good friend, and probably the only person to read this blog urged me to 'update your blog, you hobo" and I was thinking and thinking about doing it, but I couldn't come up with a name for my entry. Thus it is... no name.
Which fits perfectly in with my week. I feel like I have gone shopping 100 times this week! First, to get coffee for work because the people I work with bullet through it like its armageddon and the only remaining beverage on this earth. Next, to get neo citran and advil cold and sinus for my rather sick husband. While I was there, I found out I had enough PC Points to buy some FREE stuff!
Maybe you are the kind of person who can hold off and save your PC points or airmiles or whatever kind of points your credit card has, but NOT ME! The second I have enough airmiles to get something... anything... (a weigh scale) I use them right up! And its the same way with PC points. I mean, sure. I'll save my money, be responsible, contribute to an RSP yadda yadda yadda. But let me be irresponsible and frivolous with my $20.00 in PC points!
So I of course, had to turn around, and dig my next shopping list out of my bag and get some ingredients that wouldn't spoil until the next dinner calendar went on my fridge. (yes, I make a monthly dinner calendar and put it on my fridge because I am a nerd.)
Oh, so you think "yeah, that is a few trips to superstore in a week" but there is more! Next I went to pick up ingredients for Kevin's birthday dinner tomorrow. Usually my parents make the birthday dinners, but it also being Mother's Day tomorrow, and not wanting Leasa to cook, I decided that I would do it. Yes. Another trip.
After coming home, I realized I forgot strawberries for the cake, and turned around.
And then upon coming home, I realized I had NO butter in the house to make the alfredo.
Three trips in ONE day!
Bloody heck.

Anyways. I don't know why I ranted about Superstore.

In other news, I have been arranging and re-arranging out little cute yearly budget and while I was at work, I decided to go even farther than our year budget to see how long it would be until I felt comfortable buying a house. It looks like I won't be building my dream house for at least 8-10 years. In which time I expect the house market to go way way way down so I can afford to pay off my house in my lifetime. But of course that might be wishful thinking. Little dinky houses will probably be a million by the time we buy!
Also, it seems like everyone is in a huge rush these days to get married, buy a house, a car and do it all as speedy fast as possible. I just don't get why. I am 100% content just renting for quite a few years. People always tell me, why pay rent, when you could be paying off a mortgage? Puh-leeze. You mean, the bank taking most of the money I pay to my mortgage because I bought a house prematurely without a decent down payment, oh plus I have to pay utilities and property taxes on top of that? NO thank you sir!

Wow.
Okay. So maybe not a good idea to update my blog at 12:15am on a Saturday night. Too tired.

  1. So, I am also now a faithful blog reader of yours :) I am a big blogger type.. this last year has realy excalated that for me!

You have a fun blog to read :) you're an entertaining writer!

    1. Glad to know you're a fellow superstore shopper! We have an Extra Foods in Cochrane so I do a rotation of shopping there once a week then Superstore in the city the next week (Extra Food lacks in quantity some things that Superstore has)
    2. We are also renters for a few years! The house we're in is actually something we would LOVE to buy one day but a) we need/want a really good downpayment, especially with mortgage terms changing from 35 years to 30 years - a blessing in disguise really, b) we want to rent and know for a surety this is where we are settling down for good.. I don't necessarily believe in 'starter homes' - why not just buy -the- house right off the bat?

Anyways I could rant on that for a while but this is YOUR blog lol :)

  3. Oh you are so funny! I hate weeks like that! Sometimes I find myself going to the store every day too, and since we are in such a small town it's always the same cashier, who I always think is judging me. Not sure what she would be judging me about, but I just feel like she is:) I mean why would a women go to the grocery store every day?!?! Anyways, thanks for the update!
