.'tis summertide.

Summer, Kesä, Été, Tāb'stān, Verano, Sommer...

It is HERE!
I know you are all well aware that summer has arrived to Canada, and also that I am a few months late on this declaration, but it is mainly because I have been too busy enjoying summer to care about writing about what has been our goings on the past month. I am here to fill you in on what has passed thus far this summer, and with more great events to come, such as Ma and Pa Robertson coming to visit, and also Nadege and Marion Luret from France, we will have a LOT more to tell you!

Now, lets get down to business.
1. I'll start first with our trip down to Rosemary and Bassano for Canada Day. It was LOVELY! Such beautiful weather out and the bugs didn't even bother us a bit. Rosemary held their annual celebrations complete with an entire program of events. We carefully picked which ones we were going to as throughout the day there are several things happening at any given time. We chose the most obvious first. Pancake Breakfast!! YUM.

We spent the rest of the day going from Mini-Golf, to Mud Bogging, the parade, and a BBQ at my cousin Jenn and Jace's backyard. Kevin and I played wiffle ball with the kids in the back yard. I was surprised at how terrible I was after being the master of it back in elementary school. That night we danced in the street and watched the fireworks before heading to bed!

The next morning we went to Bassano to visit Grandma and Grandpa Morey. (my mother's parents) Grandpa made breakfast! And it was super good too. Now I feel kinda bad about teasing him about his cooking skills. I never knew what a chef he is. We walked around Bassano because they had their 100th anniversary during the weekend. We bought candy at an old time candy shop and looked at some neat things in the Museum. The best part however, was the art displays they had up. Now for those that don't know, my Grandma Morey is quite the artist. She has been painting for longer than I can remember. She had a few pieces of art in the showing, and the best part is the one she created for me! It is hanging in our living room wall. I will show pictures of it later on when I show off some of our new place.
Before we left town, Grandpa took us to where he works at the Bassano Dam. He explained to us how it works, and the importance of why it is there. It is pretty impressive to think that engineers so many years ago thought of building it to provide the land with the irrigation system they have now. Pretty ingenius.

In the control room of the dam where Grandpa can control the gates by computer. He can even open and close them online at home.

Heading down in the tunnels under the water!

2. HARRY POTTER!
Umm. So I am 100% a geek, and yes, Kevin likes to make fun of me for it, but I read all the Harry Potter books growing up and of course when 7 part 2 came out in theaters I just had to go and watch it. I remember when I was 11 years old my family went to visit relatives in Utah, and I pulled the first Harry Potter book of my cousin's shelf and read it. I more or less forgot about reading it until I was 13 years old and I found book 2 at the library. This started me on a grand adventure that just ended today! Ha-ha. Oh gosh. Even seeing myself write this confirms how much of I dork I am, but what can i say. Good movies, AMAZING books.
Here is a picture of the owl masks I made to go and watch the movies. I mean, if I am already a nerd, dressing up is the whole kit and caboodle.

3. We have been also enjoying the outdoor festivals that the city has to offer. This is a picture of me by the wading pool at Sir Winston Churchill Square downtown. We were at a festival called "the works" and we made paper windmills in the tent for children. In a few weeks will be the Latin festival downtown and I am getting pretty excited to go.

4. Backstreet Boys.
I went to backstreet boys. It was amazing. Brian was in the bus next to my only 10 feet away and he waved at me. I melted.

Waiting for the show to start.

Out for sushi with Tori and Leasa pre-Backstreet Boys.
And yes, Leasa came to Backstreet Boys with us and danced the entire time too!

Okay, well before I show a few pictures of our new place, I'll just put in a plug for these delicious Cauliflower fritters I made the other day. YUM. Seriously they are delicious. Everyone should try them.

5. Okay, and last but not least, some picture of our new place. We love it so much! There is nothing like having a yard, a kitchen with more than one cupboard, a dishwasher, and a bathtub. Very pleased to be here.

Hope this wasn't too long and nobody's brains exploded trying to read all of this.
There you are! Most of these pictures and more are on my facebook page as well.
