APPLE PIE!
It is one of my favorite pies ever in the world hands down, after Saskatoon berry pie. But since for some reasons Saskatoons are scarce around these Edmonton parts, I had to make an apple pie the other day. I am convinced I make the best apple pie I have ever tasted.Next to my Saskatoon berry pie, which I will put up here if I can get my hands on some Saskatoons. I have to admit. I am a cheater. I make the pie crust recipe on the back of the Crisco Vegetable Shortning box. Its sooo delicious- and the colder the water and shortening you use, the better!
Here are the ingredients:
1 double pie crust
1/2 cup apple juice (i used our homemade crab apple juice we made this summer)
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup butter
6 apples- peeled, cored, and sliced
1/2 cup white sugar
2 tbsp corn starch
1 1/2 tsp cinnamon
I hope you all enjoy!
This is SO delicious. I love pie fillings that are cooked. Just taste so much better, and they even taste amazing cold.
1. Combine apple juice, brown sugar, and butter in sauce pan until melted.

2. Add apples and cook till tender.

3. Combine white sugar with corn starch and stir into fruit mixture. Cook until thick.
4. Cool and then pour into shell. (obviously putting in the fridge cools faster)

5. Bake for 50 minutes in the oven at 350 degrees or until edges barely start to go golden.

TA-DA!
Seriously so yummy.
Of course the top of your pie doesn't have to look like this. I put the girl cookie cutter on top to signify that this pie is for girls only. Sadly Kevin didn't get it and thought it was an angel, and ate the pie.
