I've been holding off doing a blog post for a few weeks now because I hardly take any pictures that would be great in a blog. And sometimes when I read the blogs of my friends and family, I skip the boring part (words) and I go right to the pictures. So therefore; good blog post = lots of pictures.
Sadly I have none. Thus this is the most lame post you've ever seen.
This post is 100% about summer! I am so happy that summer has come. Every afternoon when I ride my soft yellow bicycle back home from work, I park it in my garage and immediately go out back to look at how my plants are growing in the back yard! For those of you who frequent my house, you already know that the ingenious garden I built turned out to be not so genius and ended up falling apart completely. But all was not lost! I scooped up my dirt and put it in an old dresser on its back and now things are growing. I'm so proud of my 2 inch tall lettuce leaves, and don't forget my little marble size tomatoes.
Kevin and I have been able to go out and be in nature quite a bit so far, starting with the BBQ and Softball earlier in the season. Since then we have gone on many a bike ride, picnic, and gone for short little rides on the scooter. (it goes much slower with my bum on the back, so we usually only ride doubles to the market down the street.)
We are looking forward to what is coming this summer as well! Kevin's cousin Heather (who has also turned into a great friend of mine) is getting married next weekend and we are very happy for her. We have spend a few long nights doing up decorations in preparation for the event and it is going to be lovely! Also, Kevin's family is all coming to Edmonton to take part in the festivities. Our house will temporarily go from housing 2 Robertsons and a cat, to housing 8 Robertson adults, 1 Robertson toddler, 1 Robertson baby, and 1 cat. (I'm not allowed to call her Kitty Robertson. Kevin doesn't want her to be part of the family.) But all in all, that is a lot of potential fun to be had!
In July I am having a craft sale in my Garage! I have a few friends who are rather crafty and talented and we are going to be setting up our wares, and selling them for two days on July 27-28th. You should come by the house and pick up some really cute items! All the items would make amazing birthday, baby shower, or Christmas gifts. You can't go wrong, really!
For my last little bit, before you completely quit reading this photo-free post, I just want to blab about how excited I am for upcoming events and concerts! We are going to be seeing a few shows during the summer including Strung Out and Brand New, and we are pretty stoked. Not to mention several local shows and going to many of the festivals in Edmonton. I really love the Heritage Festival, and the street performers festival, so if anyone is looking for some friends to go with, we will be your pals for the day!
I really love living in Edmonton. So many festivals, community events, farmer's markets, and great music. Get out of your houses! Go for a walk down the river valley or ravine, catch a show at the Artery, get out the ole ball and glove and play some catch, or go buy some kettle corn at the market. Whatever you decide to do with your summer, have fun and make friends!
