Well, Kevin and I booked our flights today to Cancun. We arne't sure where we are going to be staying yet. We want to hang out around the vicinity of Playa del Carmen, but we aren't too picky. We will book the hotel/hostel depending on how much money we are willing to put up for a room. I am pretty excited to go to a spanish-speaking place.
We are going from February 23rd- March 1st. It overlaps a bit with the vacation that my family is going on, so we should be able to at least go on a tour with them.
Anyways, I am not sure if we got a deal or not on flights, but it seemed reasonably cheap, and it was with WestJet, and if you have to cancel your vacation, you can still use your tickets anytime in the next year. So if something happens, it's okay. We spent $494 each on flights and that includes the booking fees and everything.
What are your thoughts? Is this a good deal? Or are you laughing at us for spending too much money?
In either case, I am just interested to know for future vacations!
Mexico is awesome! I went their just two years ago with my family and it was a blast! We stayed just south of cancun in the mayan riviera area, i forget what our resort was called but it was all inclusive and really awesome! $500 for a flight is a steal of a deal I think! We have never been able to get that cheap from Canada to Hawaii at least. Have fun! Traveling is so worth the splurge!
