*Since Christmas we have slowed down a bit and started to stay at home more often which has been nice. Less eating out and less busy parties and events. I forgot how nice it is just to be at home in my craft room while Kevin is playing his guitar for the cat.
*I haven't undergone any major projects and I am putting some furniture on hold till spring/ summer. My plan is to get a free tent off Kijiji and cut the entrance out on it to use as a shelter for my paint spraying endeavors.
*In the meantime I have been reading up on gardening in boxes. We don't have any garden plot, or flower beds. (they are rock beds) so I am going to be making some boxes to place on top of the rocks so I can at least grow some tomatoes and peas and beans over the summer. I am getting pretty excited to do it, but I'll have to wait a bit before I can start them inside.
*Right now I am working at the University of Alberta as the Undergrad Administrator for Music. Thus far it is a pretty fun job advising students and accepting applications into the Department. I get to meet a lot of band nerds and hippies and it is super fun!
*On Sunday we are hosting the potluck for our "Guess who's coming" group. We are having 12 people over to our house for a French 5 course meal. Everyone is in charge of a different course. We have to put our big dining room table with my small craft table to make enough room for everyone to sit at the same table, and we had to borrow 4 chairs from my parents, but I think it'll be worth it. It will be a good long night with plenty of food and laughter I am sure.
*Kevin has applied for a full-time position at his work. I don't know if I want him to get it or not. Part-time workers get paid over time and full-time get time in lieu. He is making good money on his over time hours so I'd be sad to see the money go away, but there are some other perks to being full time that would also make it worth it. We'll see what happens and no matter what, we will be happy!
*Only one more month until we leave to Mexico. I am very excited to meet the people who own the bed and breakfast we will be staying at. They are a Columbian family and I have been communicating with them back and forth for a while. We will be able to eat lots of Mexican AND Columbian food!
*Also, my birthday is coming up soon. 25 years old. Which means I can drive any rental car and my car insurance is going to go down! I am pretty excited about both. We might be taking a trip to visit my mission in Nashville in May and we'll rent a car while we are there. I told Kevin that for my birthday all I want is some amazing nigiri sushi. So if any of you have suggestions of the best sushi place in Edmonton, let me know!
