.holiday update.

So quickly to follow up with my last blog post, this dark brown and green chair is the one that I had taken a picture of before. I did two of them just like this, but I dont know if they will be able to sell since they would just be two accent chairs. I've decided to wait off on selling them for now until I can perhaps find a small apartment sized table to paint brown to match.
The rocking chair I filled and covered as well, and I am so glad its done. I am going to put it in my nursery. (nope, no babies on the way yet. I just keep finding cheap baby furniture so I thought, why not collect it while its cheap).
Now on to Christmas.
It was really fun, and felt pretty laid back. For Christmas Eve we went out to Dad's house and played some board games, but because Kevin had to work 10-6 on Christmas Day we decided to go home. In the morning we each opened each others gifts. It was great. Kevin got me a keyboard, cloudy with a chance of meatballs (i've asked for it every holiday since we got married), an oil sprayer, and some music. It was a pretty good haul. I got him a new electric razor that he was badly in need of, some music, video games, and some toys. I think no matter his age, every boy loves playing with toys. And I was right! He loves shooting his Nerf darts at the cat.
Two days after Christmas we went to Saskatoon to visit his family. It was a short 48 hour trip, but it didn't seem that short to the both of us. We got to see everyone we wanted to including Angie and Navid's new addition to the Robertson family. I even held it! It was a little too squirmy so I didn't hold it for long. Holding newborns freaks me out just a little bit. They are so tiny and I am always too worried about dropping them.
All in all we had a lovely time, and a lovely Christmas. We are excited to have a Christmas of our own one of these years with traditions we have been talking about starting with a family, but until we have a family of our own, we will continue to crash holiday parties at our parent's place.

  1. As of last year we have started doing Christmas at home - we want our kids to grow up enjoying Christmas traditions of ours, not our parents :) Seems like you are on the same page?

The chairs look amazing! Good on you. IF you ever find your way up to Cochrane for a visit, I have inherited an old warddrobe that I would actually like to possibly refinish to be a puppet theatre! :D MAybe you could direct me

  2. I have never seen "Cloudy with a chance of meatballs", I'm guessing it's a gooder, seeing as how you asked for it every christmas since it came out... :P
