As most of you know (by my pleads for help on facebook and twitter), Kevin and I have purchased a house in the "ghetto" of Edmonton. Kevin likes to call it the safe neighborhood in Edmonton because there are "This community does not tolerate prostitution" signs everywhere. He always exclaims 'This MUST be a safe place! They don't tolerate bad stuff!"
Speaking of prostitutes, we have seen our fair share in the past week of commuting back and forth to paint and such. I have a hard time picking them out because even though it is getting chilly outside, the average girl is SILL wearing short shorts. Our experience has prompted the desire to watch Pretty Woman. Naturally.
Moving day takes place tomorrow and the rest of the weekend. We took one load, only of boxes over to the house and the new kijiji table I bought for the breakfast nook. Even though the trim and baseboards aren't painted, and the crown moulding still isn't up, I decided to give you a little sneak peak of the paint!
Enjoy!
This is a glance at our front window, entry way and stairs heading to the second floor. No curtains up yet!
This is the living room. No curtains or crown molding, but you get the idea!
The back entry way/ breakfast nook.
That is all for now! We are going to take pictures once we get everything finished, and all the furniture moved in. During October we plan to refinish the second floor bathroom (the toilet is kind of sinking into the floor). Also, we are having a house warming party on November 9th, with drinks and appetizers. Come on over to take a look at the house, and to eat some good food!
