almost 8 months

next week Elliot will be eight months old and i just don't think that ill have the time to sit down and right about him recently. so here goes.

-elliot cant crawl, but in this last month he has learned to roll over! that saves me a lot of trouble having to flip him over when he is bashing his face into the ground. he reaches far for toys from sitting position and then ends up on his tummy and hates it. i have a feeling he will learn how to crawl from the sitting position and not from his tummy.

- he is growing more hair! just in time to be losing it if he follows in dada's footsteps

- he is really interactive and loves to make all sort of noises with his mouth and lately has picked up on this screech which i find pretty cute except when he does it all through the sacrament prayers. i never know if i should take him out of sacrament meeting or not, because its not like he is ever angry. just too happy.

- we dont really have him on a set sleep schedule. basically he wakes up at 8am no matter when he goes to bed. he is down to two naps during the day. he is a pretty good sleeper, but the thing we struggle most with is having a sure bed time for him. we are usually pretty busy in the evenings and he ends up falling asleep wherever we are and then we have to disturb him when we we leave and when we get home which can be a pain in the caboose.

- its his first christmas and so far he seems to love it! his favorite activity when we are out is yanking on christmas tree branches and trying to eat ornaments. i try to limit him to one ingested ornament per day. also he really likes eating wrapping paper, so we are constantly sticking fingers down his throat to pull out pieces of paper he nibbled off.

- he is also almost too big for his infant car seat. we will need to buy one in the new year. something that can face both backwards and forwards so we dont need to buy three of these money suckers. any suggestions on a good car seat?

well, that is about all i can think of! enjoy some recent pictures of the little bug.

  1. We have 2 of the Alpha Omega seats from Walmart, and are pretty happy with them. One we have converted into the booster, but that means Abbi can still use hers, which means we are getting many years of use out of it.

    1. My mistake, we did have one converted, but now we have 1 in each vehicle so we don't have to do the car seat shuffle from one vehicle to the next.

  2. Diono http://ca.diono.com/, we love them. They are money suckers though but we are waiting for a sale on Amazon to buy our next one. Best part is they are the narrowest carseat you can buy. Also love the Christmas sweater.
