.medical leave.

well, i had a midwife appointment yesterday, and since i have been experiencing all this back pain/ miserable sleep/ "burning rib" and my pinched siatic nerve, she advised that i take it easy and perhaps take a medical leave from now until the baby is born.
i decided to hold off until at least the end of this month, and i will be starting my medical leave when i am 34 weeks pregnant on April 2nd! it seems so early to be leaving 6 weeks before this baby is supposed to come out. i am not worried about being bored at home, and i am sure kevin will be glad that i have the time to clean the house for once in my pregnancy instead of crashing on the couch the second i get home from work.
anyways, i am mildly nervous to talk to my boss about my plans to leave early, but i figure she'll want to know a decent amount of time in advance. i just feel like with my emotional pregnantness, i will break down and cry for no good reason!

did anybody else take off from work so early?

  1. I took off 3 weeks early. My midwives would have liked me to take at least 4 weeks off, but I was waiting for someone to be hired and didn't have any really good reason to leave early. BUT if there had been any issues with me or my baby's health I would have absolutely left early! You need to do what is best for you and the little one:) It can be tough because although bosses of course like babies, they don't love mat leave, and I definitely had discussions with my boss about that. Sounds like it's time for you to take care of your body and your baby:)
